This snapshot of the Michael Buxton Collection aimed to highlight some distinctive qualities of the Collection. Featuring a broad range of media from the work of influential and acclaimed painters and sculptors, the exhibition highlighted the many ways artists experiment with different forms and subjects. Patricia Piccinini, Ricky Swallow and Hany Armanious are acclaimed for their sculptural-based works but were represented in this exhibition by video, print and painting respectively. While, recent acquisitions such as James Morrison's curious 3D drawing and Tony Schwensen's humourous endurance performance videos were presented alongside a number of works that have been in the collection for a longer time such as Callum Morton's striking digital prints. This exhibition also presented Emily Floyd's sculpture Temple of the Female Eunuch alongside strong video works by Tracey Moffatt and Daniel Von Sturmer and David Noonan's dramatic series of collages from the Images series.
